Off the Road – Application and Value Creation Potentials of Hydrogen in Mobile Working Machines

While the use of hydrogen in road transport and industry is increasingly in the spotlight, mobile working machines – such as construction, municipal, and special-purpose vehicles – still offer largely untapped potential for decarbonization and value creation. The panel highlights current technological developments, pilot applications, and cooperation in this field, particularly the interplay between research, industry, and innovation clusters in Finland and Germany. The panel aims to strengthen European cooperation, demonstrating how regional clusters and research networks complement each other to drive the ramp-up of the hydrogen economy in special and niche applications – practical, innovative, and application-oriented.
