About
Christoph von dem Bussche will highlight how transmission infrastructure serves as a cornerstone for unlocking hydrogen investments across Europe. He will introduce the vision of the European Hydrogen Backbone and explain Germany’s hydrogen core network (“Kernnetz”), including its innovative de-risking and financing mechanisms intertemporal cost allocation and amortization accounts.
Building on this framework, Dr. von dem Bussche will present GASCADE’s major hydrogen initiatives – Flow – Making Hydrogen Happen (onshore - world's first repurposing at scale), AquaDuctus (North Sea), and the Baltic Sea Hydrogen Collector (BHC), a joint project with Gasgrid Finland and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners. The keynote will conclude with GASCADE’s perspective on the significant opportunity hydrogen represents for the Finnish economy and the key enablers required to realize it – with the BHC pipeline as a central element.
