This presentation explores how modern district heating helps unlock Finland’s hydrogen economy. By absorbing electrolysis waste heat, time-shifting surplus wind power, and providing reliable peak-season flexibility without overloading the power grid, heat networks cut costs and emissions for hydrogen producers. The presentation also highlights the links to carbon capture and utilization and explain why city-wide heat systems are uniquely efficient platform for fossil-free growth.
