Niklas Becker has been working at Duisburg Business & Innovation GmbH (DBI), the economic development agency of the City of Duisburg, since April 2025. In his role as Branch Manager of Hy.Region.Rhein.Ruhr and Hub Manager for Hydrogen and Sustainability, he is responsible for building and further developing regional networks in the field of hydrogen and sustainable transformation.
Previously, Niklas worked as a foreign correspondent for Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI), the German federal economic development agency, in Helsinki from February 2021 onwards, covering Finland as well as Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Between 2018 and 2020, he had already reported for GTAI from Poland.
Before that, Niklas spent several years working at the German Chamber of Commerce Abroad (AHK) in     Warsaw. He studied Economics and Political Science at the University of Göttingen and International Economics at the University of Warsaw.
